Historic Village Happenings...

We are off to a great start in our 33rd season at Sauder Village. With more than 16,000 guests joining us for fun-filled educational field trips, this is sure to be a great season. Take a train ride to view the progress being made on the Pioneer Settlement project as the ground has been prepared and some of the buildings moved in anticipation of the opening of Pioneer Settlement next summer. Special events this summer include the Gospel Music concert, Summer on the Farm, Explore the Crafts and many more as listed on our Events page. Whether visiting for a few hours or spending the whole day, we hope you will feel a part of all that is happening this season at Sauder Village.

We are very excited to have Robert Tonner as our special guest artist this year at the 25th Annual Doll & Teddy Bear Show & Sale on August 2 and 3. Robert was with us 10 years ago and our special doll that year was "Eliza Goes to Sauder Village" with a storybook detailing her visit with Mary Lee Sauder. This year, our special doll will be "Mary Lee", a Kripplebush 8" doll (as Eliza was). She represents Mary Lee Sauder, Erie's great granddaughter, and is costumed in a layered lace-trimmed cotton dress in plaid and floral prints topped with fresh, white embroidered cotton pinafore... includes tights, ankle boots and plaid cotton bonnet with satin ribbon trim at $69.95.

Also this year, Robert's Doll Company is sponsoring a Collector Brunch here at the Village. Click here to view details on the Brunch as well as additional doll classes offered this year by Bob Severns, Jill Cullimore and Pat Secrist.

Some of the specific positions we are looking to fill this Spring include costumed interpreter, cooper, broom maker, glass shop assistant and housekeeper.

As a non-profit organization, volunteers play a key role at Historic Village.
