In the early 20th century, the town doctor was an important part of any community. Although house calls were still common, all had offices, often attached to their homes. Dr. George McGuffin came to nearby Pettisville, Ohio in 1901 and began what would be a 42-year practice in the community. His office, built in 1911, was moved to the Historic Village and features many of the early medical instruments used by doctors of the time.
