We have another amazing and inspiring Rug Hooking Week planned for you. For the last several years, thousands of visitors have attended the show, to view the nearly 600 exhibit rugs and 200 vendor rugs on display, and to shop with over a dozen amazing vendors. 2013 promises to be another spectacular year! Here are just a few updates; we will add more to our Facebook page throughout the year.
Exhibit News…Each year the exhibit has grown and this will be our 3rd year to feature the work of both contemporary and historic artists. American Sewn Rugs, one of our Historic Featured Exhibits, is a sampling of pieces featured in the new book by Jan Whitlock and Tracy Jamar as well as other pieces not seen in the book. An extensive exhibit of American Sewn Rugs and Needlework will then be on display at the Winterthur Museum in 2014. The Knipe Collection, another Featured Exhibit, is a first-time exhibit representing the work of a mother and daughter. We think you will find the Special Exhibits are truly unique and ingenious this year, The Group Exhibit has grown leaps and bounds along with the Main Exhibit, both excellent representation of the current trends, techniques, materials and colors. And each year we are filled with anticipation to see the inspiring finalists’ rugs in the Celebration Exhibit.
Class News… You may select from 30 workshops, ranging from half-day workshops to four-day retreats, taught by talented and creative teachers in a wide range of topics & techniques, as well as experience levels.
Vendor News… In addition to our wonderful selection of returning vendors; Bea Brock, Lisanne Miller, and Susan Quicksall will also be vending this year.
Please join us for the 17th Annual Rug Hooking Week at Sauder Village. Whether you come to see the exhibit, shop at over a dozen vendor booths, attend one of the many classes, or visit the historic village, and if you visit for a couple of days or the entire week, come enjoy the fun, friendship, relaxation, education, inspiration and memories in the picturesque, historic setting of Sauder Village!
See you in August!
