From Ginny Stimmel's "On the Editor's

Rug Hooking magazine...
...Rug Hooking magazine is thriving. We had a
wonderful show and exhibit at Sauder Village in
August and are looking forward to the next one.
If you have a chance to go next year, I think
you'll agree that the way the rugs are
professionally exhibited is next to none!
Mid-west hospitality is warm and welcoming and
adds to the general ambiance. This was my sixth
season at the show, and I look forward to it
every year as a chance to renew relationships
and make new friends. Put the show on your "must
see" list for 2009. |
Sauder Village is honored to host this
exciting annual rug hooking event, and appreciates your
support and participation to ensure the continuation and
celebration of this traditional art form.
For over 30 years, Sauder Village has
offered guests experiences rich in history, hospitality,
creativity, and fun. Our living history museum preserves the
stories of the past and features artisans of traditional
American crafts, making Sauder Village an ideal venue for a
week of rug hooking activity. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization, Sauder Village relies on support from
admissions, retail sales, and donations to sustain the
mission, as well as the attendance and involvement of our
Members and volunteers.
Greetings to all Rug Hookers,
Rug Hooking Week at Sauder Village is filled
with inspiration, creativity and just plain fun. The week is
made up of a striking gallery exhibit, a variety of quality
vendors for great shopping, a 4-day Retreat and half and full
day workshops to expand your rug hooking knowledge, and the
delightful Historic Sauder Village to explore. Enjoy beautiful
accommodations at the Sauder Heritage Inn or Campground and
delicious food at the Barn Restaurant and Doughbox bakery during
your stay, all conveniently located on the complex. Whether you
participate in a portion or all aspects of the week, make plans
now to attend one of the most respected and popular events in
the rug hooking world... you will be glad you did! Registration
is simple and can be completed online.
