Knitter's Retreat at Sauder Village
Friday & Saturday, February 10 &11, 2012
Mark your calendar for the 2012 Sauder
Village Knitter’s Retreat! Come and learn new techniques, catch up on projects
and share ideas with other knitters.
Bring your knitting friends and enjoy two days of knitting in the beautiful and spacious Sauder Heritage Inn, have the opportunity to take a knitting class, take part in a knitter's fashion show, and dine at the delicious Barn Restaurant.
Your registration fee of $75 per person ($70 for members) includes...
• Two days of knitting in a private meeting room at the Heritage Inn
• Buffet dinner on Friday night and lunch on Saturday
• Door prize drawings.
• One class of your choice from the following selection:
Mitered Square Potholder (Intermediate) – Friday afternoon
An introduction to mitered squares, this is a fun project to get you started! Learn mitered squares and find out what you can do with them! |
The Twisted Holey Scarf (Advanced) – Friday afternoon
The scarf that doesn’t fall off! The innovative twisted shape keeps this scarf in place, whether it be hanging down inside your jacket, wrapped around your neck or over your hair. It’s a little challenging to begin, but you will soon be hooked on making more! |
Easy Lace Fingerless Mittens (Easy) – Saturday morning
Knit these easy-lace fingerless mittens and wear them alone, or over purchased gloves. |
Oops, What did I Do? – Saturday morning
Learn to fix common mistakes: dropped stitches, twisted stitches, following the wrong row, turning in the middle of the row! We will learn to use a crochet hook to pick up the stitches, learn to use lifelines, and TINK (knitting backwards). We will take away the fear of frogging! (Maybe not the annoyance of having to do it, though!) |
Basketweave Scarf (Easy) – Saturday afternoon
Interplay of horizontal and vertical ribs produces an undulating, curved effect that adds complicated texture to the relatively simple stitch pattern. Very easy pattern to do. |
What Does This Mean? (Discussion on reading charts, instructions, and abbreviations) – Saturday afternoon
Did you ever read a pattern and wonder what they were talking about? Well, let’s talk about it and find out what these things really mean! |
• A maximum of 10 people may enroll per class.
• Teachers are Georgienne Westrick, Lorie Konopka, and Gail Richardson.
• A materials list will be provided with your retreat confirmation.
This exclusive opportunity is limited to 60 knitters. Register
